Job summary

Hargrove in Houston, TX is seeking a Piping Engineer to develop complete mechanical designs for varied projects under supervision. You will apply design standards, perform stress analysis, prepare material specifications, and assist with startup support.

The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of experience, and a PE registration is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in our collaborative, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer registration is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of design standards and codes for piping.
• Sizing of piping systems and stress analysis.
• Ability to estimate piping quantities and prepare material specs.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to work in a virtual team.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete designs of mechanical engineering assignments under general supervision.
• Produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Develop construction specifications and review vendor drawings for mechanical input.
• Assist drafting group with layouts and detailing; furnish sketches and details.
• Provide field data collection and startup support.
• Coordinate with design leaders across disciplines to ensure timely completion.
