Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a lead designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver mechanical and piping deliverables on time and within budget. You will serve as a technical specialist on complex design tasks, mentoring staff and coordinating with discipline leads.

On-site startup support and strong communication are required. Ideal candidate has 20+ years in mechanical/piping drafting, an associate degree in engineering technology or CAD, and SPED certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• SPED (Society of Piping Engineers and Designers) Certification is preferred.
• 20+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a design staff to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Produce mechanical and piping installation specifications with engineering review and approval.
• Coordinate work with discipline leads and staff to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Provide on-site startup support and technical guidance to junior designers.
• Check calculations for conformance to codes, specs and design criteria.
