Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a field/inspection professional to surveil natural gas pipeline systems, coordinate damage prevention, and oversee excavation-related activities. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and detailed documentation across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include site marking, patrols, mapping, and contractor oversight. Travel to various locations is expected, with a focus on asset protection and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets construction drawings.
• Knows general construction safety practices.
• Can read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, or similar diagrams.
• Organizes tasks and prioritizes work effectively.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic computer use.
• Good mathematics skills (add/sub/mult/div).
• Strong written and verbal communication with internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark facilities per damage prevention program and procedures.
• Perform pipeline patrols and inspections per procedures.
• Coordinate local damage prevention activities.
• Oversee and inspect projects near pipelines to protect assets and ensure compliance.
• Inspect projects and complete site documentation (photos, tickets, as-builts).
• Perform mapping, record keeping and data entry per policy.
• Represent company during construction contacts with landowners and officials.
• Train and supervise company and third-party personnel as required.
• Comply with PHMSA, state agencies, EPA, USFS, and other regulations.
