Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Field Technician to inspect and patrol gas and liquids pipelines, appurtenances, compressor stations, and related facilities. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and coordination with landowners and contractors.

You will locate facilities, monitor risks, complete documentation, and support project runs with on-site teamwork, reporting to Operations and Project Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases and liquids.
• Familiarity with company policies, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, etc.).
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark facilities per Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures.
• Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys and inspections.
• Coordinate local Damage Prevention activities.
• Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with Company procedures near pipeline facilities.
• Inspect projects related to excavation near pipeline facilities and repair of pipeline facilities.
• Complete required documentation and as-built drawings; supervise contractors and report to Operations and Project Manager.
