Job summary

Kinder Morgan Inc. seeks a Pipeline Technician (Line Patroller) based at the Southern Natural Gas Fairburn compressor station to support and protect critical natural gas infrastructure across Georgia counties.

This field role blends pipeline operations, utility locating, inspection, and safety duties with extensive local travel; regular Monday–Friday schedule with on-call responsibilities. Ideal candidates have experience in pipeline operations, reporting, and a strong safety mindset; a valid

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in pipeline maintenance or excavation preferred.
Strong report writing and record-keeping skills.
Knowledge of compressor stations and transmission pipelines preferred.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

Locate and mark facilities per program and One-Call procedures before during excavation.
Document all work activities in writing.
Perform pipeline patrols, inspections, and damage prevention tasks.
Coordinate local damage prevention activities.
Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance near pipelines.
Represent the company in landowner and public official contacts.
