Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a field-focused inspector to perform and coordinate patrolling, excavation inspection, and damage prevention activities across pipelines and related facilities in Texas. The role requires hands-on oversight of construction sites, documentation, and regulatory compliance, with strong emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating local prevention efforts, reporting progress to management, and representing the company with landowners and officials.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs on compressor engines and pumps.
• Knowledge of compressor or pump station operations and related facilities.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and diagrams.
• Safe handling of flammable gases, liquids, and high/low pressure systems.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark facilities per Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during encroachments and excavation.
• Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys and inspections per Company procedures.
• Coordinate local Damage Prevention activities.
• Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance near pipeline facilities.
• Inspect projects related to excavation near pipeline facilities and repair of pipeline facilities.
• Complete required documentation, as-built drawings, and contractor oversight; act as Company representative during construction activities.
• Represent the Company in dealings with landowners, public officials, and at local meetings; conduct trainings as required.
