Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. seeks a field-based inspector to perform inspection work on company pipelines and oversee contractors during construction and maintenance of a pipeline system.

You will ensure compliance with company and governmental standards, assist with equipment operation, and maintain detailed logs and reports. The role requires 2–4 years of relevant experience, knowledge of pipeline safety standards, and the ability to read maps and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of relevant experience; minimum one year required.
• Experience with tools and equipment used in pipeline work and basic computer use.
• Experience with basic arithmetic operations.
• Experience with construction and maintenance of pipeline systems.
• Knowledge of federal/state/industry pipeline standards and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with GOSM procedures and emergency response basics.
• Knowledge of regulators, meters, cathodic protection, and leak surveys.
• Ability to read maps, atlas pages, blueprints and job orders.
• Basic computer operation and software knowledge.
• Fluent reading and writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installation, maintenance, and removal work to ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain logs and prepare inspection, leak, and job-order reports.
• Investigate customer orders and emergency situations and respond accordingly.
• Review invoices for accuracy and assist with job-related documentation.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance; perform additional duties as assigned.
