Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is hiring an industrial helper to assist journeymen in planning, layout, installation and repair of construction systems on project sites. You will read drawings, measure components, and work with various piping systems.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in construction crafts as helper or laborer

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
• Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
• Thread, bevel, and cut pipe.
• Use hand and power tools to fit and install piping systems.
• Install valves, couplings and fittings; remove damaged pipe.
• Ensure work meets plans, specifications and industry standards.
• Coordinate with installation crews for movement of materials and equipment.
• Perform daily safety checks on equipment.
• Work with other crafts as required by supervision.
• Follow directions from foreman and safety requirements.
• Available for different shifts and overtime as needed.
• Work under production schedule pressure.
• Maintain accuracy standards.
