Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a Construction Helper to assist journeymen with planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of industrial systems on site in Rapid City, SD. You will read plans, interpret coordinates, and help install pipe, valves, and fittings while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of related experience or training, a high school diploma (preferred), and ability to work up to 50 hours per week with travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
• Experience working in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training, and a basic knowledge of the craft assigned.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
• Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
• Perform tasks including threading, beveling, and cutting pipe.
• Use hand and power tools to fit and install pipe and piping systems.
• Assist in installing valves, couplings and fittings; remove damaged pipe.
• Produce quality work meeting plans, specs, and industry standards.
• Interact with installation crews for material movement.
• Perform daily safety checks and wear PPE.
• Be able to work different shifts and overtime as required.
