Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman with documented field experience to read instructions, plan and perform pipe fabrication and installation independently. Responsibilities include laying out piping systems, ensuring proper joints, and maintaining safety on site.

The role involves selecting pipe types, cutting, threading, bending, and installing piping for steam, hot water, heating and HVAC systems, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Plan work and select proper tools
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria
• Read and interpret instructions accurately

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fabricates, installs and maintains piping systems and related equipment
• Selects pipe type and size and supports according to specs
• Inspects site for obstructions and plans installation sequence
• Cuts, threads, bends and fits pipe with appropriate methods and joints
• Installs refrigeration/AC piping and tests systems for leaks
• Loads, transports and positions materials and tools
• Ensures compliance with safety and project rules
