Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, Texas is seeking skilled pipefitters to plan, lay out, install, test, and repair piping systems in accordance with plans, specs, codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities include reading isometrics, measuring, fabricating, installing piping, aligning components for welding, and ensuring safety and quality on site. Candidates should have strong knowledge of various joint types and tools and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in piping or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of pipe systems and joint types.
• Ability to read, understand and convey written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of pipe types and joints (butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued, fused).
• Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
• Align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment via welding and threading.
