Job summary

OPW in Ball Ground, GA is seeking an experienced welder to lay out, fit, and weld pipe and structural components used in fabrications such as spool piping and vacuum jacketed systems.

You will read sketches and blueprints, prepare equipment, and perform welding with TIG and other processes, with ASME code qualifications as required. The role requires 3+ years of welding experience and a high school diploma or GED; lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical school preferred.
• 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembles, and welds.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
• Fabricates from sketches, blueprints or instruction.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, GTAW-ARC (TIG) welding, submerged arc, or other welding process used by company.
• Be able to qualify for ASME Code welding as required.
