Optimized Process Designs (OPD) in Baytown, TX, seeks a Pipe Superintendent to lead pipefitting crews on industrial projects. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to client specifications, and coordinating with foremen to install pipe packages per area.

Extensive travel to remote sites is expected. Responsibilities include supervising 40-50-person teams, planning pipe sequences, ensuring material readiness, and enforcing safety policies.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a general foreman.
• Gas plant construction experience.
• Experience leading teams of 40-50 people.
• Must be a role model for safety.
• Travel with extended periods away from home.
• Attend and/or lead employee safety meetings.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.
• Able to meet all physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of pipefitting, tools, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead multiple foremen and crews.
• Assign job tasks to foremen and ensure proper training.
• Be a safety role model for the team.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures on the jobsite.
• Identify safety and environmental concerns and report them.
• Provide records of work completed to the OPD superintendent.
• Coordinate material requirements and scheduling of NDE for pipe and vessel welding.
• Plan and schedule the pipe sequence per area foreman.
• Verify material is onsite and required to start a package or ISO.
• Verify pipe is designed to client specifications.
• Order spools and material from laydown yard.
• Coordinate with other area GFs on planning and installing pipe.
• Write and submit RFIs as requested by foremen.
• Communicate with QC on weld changes and NDE requirements.
