Job summary

TIC_Craft in Texas seeks an entry-level helper to support skilled craftspersons by performing duties under supervision, learning isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping.

You will assist with aligning and securing components for welding, assembling pipes and fittings per plans, and helping with hydro testing and rigging, outdoors in all weather with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Field experience in the craft discipline is welcomed.
• Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
• Assist skilled craftsman to align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment per specifications by welding and threading joints.
• Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation per plans and specs.
• Learn to distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
• Learn to manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
• Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
• Assist with hydro testing piping systems.
