Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to deliver expert newborn care and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

You will perform admissions, create care plans, administer medications, support families, assist mothers with breastfeeding, and supervise non-licensed staff according to policy. A BSN, Texas RN license, BLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN clinical nursing experience
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred
• BSN required

Responsibilities

• Complete admission assessments of newborns
• Create and revise plans of care including discharge plans
• Conduct ongoing assessments and communicate changes
• Administer medications and treatments per policy
• Assist transport teams in stabilization and documentation
• Provide family education and homecare resources
• Assist mothers with breastfeeding alongside Lactation Department
• Delegate work to non-licensed staff per standards
