Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking a PICU Registered Nurse for a 26-week onsite contract in Charlotte, NC. Night shift 12 hours, 3 days a week, with a strong emphasis on high-acuity pediatric critical care.

Night Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week

Title: PICU Registered Nurse
Location: Charlotte North Carolina 28203

Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36

Shift Information: 1900-0700

Clinical Interviewing- No

On Call, Call Back Requirements: No Call

Weekend Rotation: will be required to work 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays and 2 Mondays every 6-week schedule

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays, Unit requirement is the eve and day of every other holiday while contracted

Floating Requirements: as needed within facility to other units

• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information:

• Beds: 24; 21-23 patient census on average

Required Experience: 2 years of strong high acuity Pediatric ICU experience – must be comfortable in a high acuity, fast paced environment

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Respiratory, Trauma (which includes penetrating and non-accidental trauma, NAT), DKA, Seizures, Neurosurgical, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, Orthopedic, Surgical, Transplants (Kidney and whole/partial Liver), complex Medical, Blood Disorders

Patient Ratios: RN: Varies on acuity: 2:1, 1:1, 1:2
Required Licensure & Certifications: RN: BLS, PALS
Skills required:

• EPIC experience, experience with Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device (ICP and temp monitoring device), Belmont Rapid Infuser, management of critical care vasoactive drip titration, management of invasive lines – ART lines/CVP, aseptic and sterile techniques, basic dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, HOFV management, oral/nasal suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation and analgesic drip management, Foley insertion and management, Alaris & Medfusion pump management, bedside procedures with providers, discharge skills, CRRT experience
• Ability/Competency to float to Pediatric CVICU – discussed during interview

Support within the Department:

• CNA - 1 Health Care tech per day to support unit secretary duties and nursing support needs throughout the shift (runners, bathing, etc.)

Floating: If yes, where:

• Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, Gen Peds – will float as needed

Orientation (facility and unit):

• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: will be required to work 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays and 2 Mondays every 6-week schedule
  • The combination of the 2 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays can be grouped together or worked separately as long as those eight (8) shifts occur within the 6-week period
• No call for travelers, if the PICU cannot utilize them, they may be floated to PCVICU, Peds Progressive, NICU or general Peds units within LCH
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays, Unit requirement is the eve and day of every other holiday while contracted
• RTO: Manager approval
• Shift times: 0645 – 1915, 1845 - 0715
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
