Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for our customers including an exceptional checkout experience.
• Communicate with team members and assigning daily work tasks.
• Mentor and coach other team members to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Assist with department schedule writing to focus on team member engagement, improving customer service, store sales and profitability.
• Ensure freshness of products by closely monitoring rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
• Lead team members to ensure ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Operate a register and cash handling when needed.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments throughout the store.
• Participate in period end inventories, where applicable.
