Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse for the PICC Insertion Team at Mount Sinai Morningside. This full-time role runs day shift from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and includes every other weekend coverage.

You will assess patients, plan and intervene in health problems, provide health teaching and discharge planning, and collaborate with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN considered with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation subject to approval.
• 1 year ICU nursing experience or 2 years Stepdown/Telemetry RN experience preferred
• Licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State
• BLS and ACLS certification required by AHA

Responsibilities

• Conducts nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation and records review.
• Ensure patient progress is reflected in notes and revised care plans.
• Discharge planning aligned with patient status and inter-department communication.
• Communicate information to patients based on learning needs and readiness.
• Support orientation of new staff as preceptor and resource.
