Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a music teacher to lead programs for children and adults. You will plan weekly lessons, implement a structured curriculum, and coordinate recitals with corps leadership to showcase talent and progress.

You will encourage participants to develop talent, heighten self-esteem, and positively impact the community through performance and program involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults; performance experience preferred.
• No certifications/licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps as assigned.
• Plan lessons weekly and implement the curriculum for music classes.
• Attend recitals and coordinate corps participation in year-end concert.
• Encourage participants toward personal growth and self-esteem through music.
• Support community awareness of The Salvation Army’s mission through performances.
• Assist with planning summer camps and divisional music programs.
