Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time music educator to work with children and adults in corps and community settings. You will plan and implement a music curriculum, lead performances, and coordinate year-end concerts, while encouraging personal growth and positive participation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Experience: At least two years’ music experience with children/adults; performance experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in music theory and primary instrument; strong leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly music lesson curricula and implement the required program.
• Lead music and other arts programs with corps leadership and plan recitals.
• Prepare corps music programs for year-end concert and events.
• Encourage participants to develop musical abilities and self-esteem through activities.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the mission.
