Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a dedicated Music Program Coordinator to work within the corps and community, planning and implementing a comprehensive music program that teaches theory, performance skills, music, and values. You will lead weekly classes, plan recitals, and coordinate participation in year-end concerts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• A minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults. Performance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps and plan weekly music classes.
• Plan and attend recitals and coordinate end-of-year concert participation.
• Encourage participants to develop skills and self-esteem through music.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the corps mission.
• Encourage participation in summer camps and assist with divisional music camps.
• All other duties as assigned.
