Berklee College of Music is seeking a Piano Technician Assistant as a student employment opportunity. The role involves learning to maintain and tune Berklee's acoustic pianos under the guidance of full-time piano technicians.

• Summer semester allows employment without enrollment if pre-registered for upcoming fall
• Must be located in the U.S.
• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN)
• Remain in valid Visa status as applicable
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
• Federal Work Study student may apply
• In good disciplinary standing

Responsibilities

• Maintain and tune Berklee College acoustic pianos with Berklee's full-time piano technicians
• Significant hands-on training in piano technology
• Maintain practice room pianos at 150 Mass Ave, 160 Mass Ave, 171 Mass Ave, 1120 Boylston, 1108 Boylston, 98 Hemenway, 270 Commonwealth Ave, and 8 The Fenway
• Employees who continue in this capacity will gain skills in this music industry craft
• 2nd-3rd semester students strongly recommended to apply

Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. Specialized piano tools are provided on loan by the Piano Technology Department. Employees who continue to work in this capacity throughout their undergraduate studies will gain considerable skills in this music industry craft. Hourly Rate: $16.97
