The SinclairPhysics Department courses show students how physicsapplies to their world and demonstrates how it meshes with theircareer and professional goals. Courses are taught by dedicatedfaculty using state-of-the-art facilities using computer assisteddata acquisition.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in physics or a master’s degreewith at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework inthe content area required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level required
• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity required
• Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology,including multimedia-based instruction required
