Job summary

The North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) seeks a friendly, detail-oriented Receptionist for its Physician Clinics. You will welcome patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and manage front-desk operations to ensure a smooth patient experience.

In this role you will register patients in ECW and Meditech, handle scheduling, co-pays, referrals, and daily clerical duties, while delivering professional, patient-centered service in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Clerical, typing and computer proficiency essential.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred: coursework or experience in business or office operations.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic front desk role is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon arrival and register in ECW/Meditech.
  • Collect and enter patient demographics, insurance and emergency contact info.
  • Explain clinic policies, payment expectations and appointment procedures.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; post payments and issue receipts.
  • Prepare patient charts, progress notes and super-bills.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments; provide co-pay reminders.
  • Enter charges for billing and coding; verify Medicaid eligibility.
  • Process referrals and PCP assignments as needed.
  • Handle mail, insurance checks, and remittance advice; perform clerical tasks.
  • Answer phones, file, type, and maintain patient paperwork; backup front desk support.
  • Assist with lab registrations, chart prep, scanning and records updates.
  • Support nurses with pharmacy faxes and daily documentation; liaise with Follow-Up Dept.
