Job summary

Odyssey Locums is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN to cover a labor & delivery unit in Petersburg, VA. This assignment features 24-hour call shifts (7a-7a) with clinic coverage and a modest daily patient load, supporting obstetric cases and postpartum care.

The role requires active VA license, DEA/CSR, and BLS, with credentialing in 60–90 days. The opportunity offers premium top-of-market pay, travel coverage, and dedicated support from Odyssey Locums.

Responsibilities

The Role:

• Location: Petersburg, VA
• Assignment duration: Potential for ongoing coverage. Current dates needed are Dec 17-24, and 31st.
• Shift Type: 24 hour Call (7a-7a) plus clinic coverage; ~20 patients on the schedule
• Call ratio: 1 to 4
• Cases: C-section, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, abnormal bleeding
• Total number of beds: 9 labor & delivery, 20 postpartum
• Number of Physicians in practice: 4
• Support Staff: OBHG hospitalist, surgical assistants, 3-4 nurses per shift
• Average number of nursery admissions per day: 2-3
• Average call back per 24hr shift: less than 1
• Site Charting System: Epic
• Certification Requirements: Board Certified, Active VA License, DEA, CSR, & BLS
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
