Position Details

• Estimated Pay Range: $29.11 - $48.51 / hour, based on location, education, & experience.
• Department: Coding Ambulatory
• Work Shift: Day, Monday - Friday, flexible scheduling, 8-hour shifts
• Position Type: Full-time, primarily remote with possible offsite travel

Role Overview

Our Coding Educators play a critical role at Banner Health, supporting Physician Practices and Profee Coding Teams by providing coaching, education, and training. Experience in E/M, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and Risk Adjustment coding is essential, along with current Certification through AHIMA or AAPC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver education/training materials for staff and physicians.
• Conduct orientation, skill assessments, and ongoing education.
• Support electronic health record systems and ensure coding compliance.
• Collaborate on system-wide educational initiatives and maintain professional knowledge through ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field, with advanced training in Health Information Management.
• Active certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P.
• 3+ years of healthcare information management experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, regulations, and adult learning principles.
• Proficiency in office software and healthcare applications.

Additional Information

Preferred: Previous teaching/training experience, creativity, and adult learning expertise.
