Join to apply for the Physician Coding Educator role at Banner Health.

In this role, you will support Physician Practices and Profee Coding Teams by providing coaching, training, and education on E/M, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and Risk Adjustment coding. A current Certification in Coding through AHIMA or AAPC and experience in these coding areas are required.

The position is primarily remote with flexible hours, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts, and may require offsite travel. Banner Health provides equipment to facilitate remote work.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering training and educational materials for staff and physicians.
• Conducting new hire orientation and ongoing education sessions.
• Supporting staff with electronic health record systems and ensuring compliance with coding standards.
• Collaborating on system-wide educational initiatives and maintaining training records.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field, with advanced training in Health Information Management.
• Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P.
• 3+ years of healthcare information management experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical documentation, coding regulations, and adult education principles.

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous teaching or training experience.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and creativity in education.
