Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Abstracts and codes pertinent medical data from inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, pro fee, and clinical records.
• Assigns principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures with correct sequencing.
• Uses coding principles and DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge to assign accurate codes.
• Maintains compliance with external regulatory and accreditation requirements and state/federal regulations.
