Omega Healthcare Management Services is seeking an External Auditor Physician to review inpatient and outpatient medical records for coding accuracy and data quality, ensuring correct ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and modifiers. The role emphasizes POA accuracy, APC and MS-DRG impact, and compliant query writing.

The position operates in a remote home office environment with standard office equipment, and requires AHIMA certification and HIM experience. Travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level education or above? Wait: Associate’s Degree or equivalent training acquired through on-the-job experience.
• Minimum of two years in HIM, preferably as an Auditor.
• At least one year of auditing experience.
• Completion of an AHIMA approved Coding Certificate Program.
• Certifications such as CCS, CPC, CPC-P, CPC-H, RHIA or RHIT are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient, outpatient, or physician services medical records for coding accuracy and data quality.
• Identify POA indicators, APR, SOI, ROM for inpatient cases and review outpatient entries.
• Ensure correct ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT codes, modifiers, and APC assignments.
• Maintain auditing productivity and complete quality review reports timely.
• Adhere to HIPAA and compliance policies.
