Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, seeks a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to perform advanced cardiac procedures, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.

You will lead complex operations and participate in on-call coverage to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires an MD or DO with board eligibility and current licensure in Wisconsin or Minnesota, plus ACLS.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Advanced Clinical Care: Perform a wide array of procedures, including TAVR, Watchman, and MitraClip, alongside complex cases such as aneurysm repair, CABG, aortic replacement, AVR, and sternotomy.

• Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with a dedicated, multidisciplinary team comprising 1 Cardiothoracic Surgeon, 3 PAs, 1 RN, 1 MA, and 1 Surgery Scheduler, ensuring exceptional, coordinated care for every patient.

• Patient & Hospital Leadership: Serve as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, and participate in inpatient/outpatient consultations (including on-call schedules).

• Comprehensive Care Coordination: Partner with case management to coordinate thorough discharge planning and ensure appropriate documentation that meets insurance requirements.

• Quality & Academic Engagement: Champion cost-effectiveness and quality improvement initiatives, accept physician referrals, and participate in academic programs including medical education and research as requested.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• One or more of the following:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
