Ascension is seeking a physician to join the Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital team in Milwaukee, WI.

This full-time role offers extensive robotic surgery opportunities with state-of-the-art Da Vinci systems and collaboration with a team of experienced surgeons and APPs. The position emphasizes a balanced schedule with a 1:4 call rotation, strong patient-care delivery in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and active involvement in education, research, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with robotic surgery (as per listing).
• Ability to work in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Serve as admitting/attending/consulting physician and manage referrals.
• Coordinate discharge planning with case management and multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in quality improvement and cost-effectiveness initiatives.

• Collaborative Practice Environment: Join an established, highly supportive team of 5 experienced surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Balanced Schedule & Call: Enjoy a manageable 1:4 call rotation designed to support personal well-being and professional delivery.
• Advanced Technology: Direct access to state-of-the‑art Da Vinci Surgical Systems for robotic‑assisted surgical procedures.
• Desired Qualifications: Minimum of 3â5 years of clinical experience with certification and demonstrated proficiency in robotic surgery.
• Deliver high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings through comprehensive diagnostic, clinical, and surgical treatments.
• Serve as an admitting, attending, or consulting physician, receiving patient referrals and providing compassionate specialty care.
• Partner closely with case management and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless discharge planning and patient transitions.
• Champion quality improvement and cost‑effectiveness initiatives to continuously elevate patient outcomes and operational excellence.
• Engage in academic, medical education, and research opportunities to foster clinical growth and organizational development..
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation in compliance with insurance standards and support timely appeals when needed

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• One or more of the following:
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
