Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Current NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental health condition of patients and obtain medical history.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate labs and tests to guide care.
• Prescribe or recommend medications and other treatments following protocols.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
• Provide consultation for conditions within the provider’s specialty and scope.
• May work in inpatient, ED, or other non-typical care settings as needed.
