Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver direct patient care in specialty clinics under physician supervision. The Advanced Practice Provider will work in outpatient settings with prescriptive authority and a focus on delivering high-quality care.

This role emphasizes comprehensive exams, test interpretation, treatment planning, patient counseling, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Active TX PA license.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients via comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates labs and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribes or recommends medical therapies and intervenes per approved protocols.
• Develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Counsels patients and families on medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes, and initiates referrals when needed.
• Provides consultation within specialty scope and manages patients in settings beyond primary clinics.
• Performs invasive procedures within scope of practice as delegated by supervising physician.
• May cover additional duties to meet department coverage needs.
