Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support physical therapy services. You will assist the Physical Therapist, perform delegated procedures, document progress, and adjust treatments within the plan of care.

You will ensure patient safety, address age-specific needs, and treat patients and families with respect and dignity. Responsibilities include assessing pain per policy, reporting safety issues, and coordinating with PT aides to manage department workload.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant state.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Entry-level candidates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist in delivering therapy procedures.
• Document patient progress notes and outcomes.
• Modify treatment within PT plan as patient status changes.
• Provide safe, age-appropriate care and maintain patient dignity.
• Identify and report patient safety issues.
• Coordinate workload and provide direction to PT aide.
