Requirements include an Associate's degree, current licensure in the applicable state, and a Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice.
• Experience: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy services.
• Document patient progress notes and report patient status changes.
• Modify treatment procedures within the supervising Physical Therapist's plan as needed.
• Provide supervision and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate the department workload.
• Address age-specific needs and ensure patients are treated with respect and dignity.
• Report any patient safety issues and support pain management per policy.
