Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy in New York is hiring a part-time Physical Therapist Aide to join a collaborative team in state-of-the-art facilities. You will support therapists, prepare materials, assist patients with exercises, and help maintain a safe, clean treatment environment.

Assignements include front desk coverage as needed, scheduling support, and ensuring equipment readiness. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care and ongoing growth within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office; transportation to and from work is required.
• Knowledge of Anatomy and Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management.
• Ability to complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Ability to maintain records and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing exercises under supervision.
• Prepare heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, assist with pool exercises and equipment use.
• Maintain and troubleshoot treatment equipment; ensure it operates safely.
• Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines.
• Welcome and prepare patients for therapy sessions; provide support as needed.
• Answer questions and provide information; address patient concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality and a safe, clean work environment.
• Deliver supplies and position equipment for therapist access.
• Prepare treatment rooms and assist with scheduling and front desk duties.
