Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Aide to join a growing multispecialty team. The role supports physical, occupational, speech therapy, massage and acupuncture services within state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative environment.

Duties include assisting therapists, preparing supplies, ensuring equipment readiness, providing front desk support, and maintaining safety and confidentiality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must cover 15-20 minutes from home office and provide transportation to/from work.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment used.
• Knowledge of patient needs.
• Knowledge of strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct for patient welfare.
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of DPT/OT.
• Help treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs; paraffin dips; assisting to pool; guiding exercises.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment; perform preventive maintenance; troubleshoot; call for repairs.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy by welcoming and assisting into sessions.
• Provide information to patients by answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations information.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; comply with procedures and regulations.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; sterilize and deliver to treatment area; position as needed.
• Prepare the treatment room for patients; follow prescribed procedures.
• Answer calls from physicians, hospitals, and patients with good customer service.
• Maintain inventory of supplies; anticipate needs; place orders; verify receipts.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed; assist with scheduling.
• Perform other front desk duties as required.
