Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join Swain Community Rehabilitation in North Carolina. The role supports outpatient locations and an affiliated 48-bed hospital, contributing to patient care and rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and possess a North Carolina Physical Therapy License.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred; ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent dysfunction.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel; assesses competence and delegates tasks.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

Join our rehabilitation team with the opportunity to work in one of our 3 outpatient locations and/or an acute care hospital with 48 beds. Our featured hospital units include medical surgical, same day surgery, intensive care unit, progressive care unit, emergency department and women's services. At Swain Rehabilitation, we value excellent patient care that ensures optimal outcomes, a collaborative team environment and a culture of respect. We employ a variety of specialty trained clinicians and feature one‑on‑one patient care. We offer flexibility that may include non‑traditional schedules to best meet patient and employee needs.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

What We're Looking For

Must have a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and possess a North Carolina Physical Therapy License. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
