Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a part-time Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to evaluate adults and geriatric patients and develop individualized treatment programs under Therapy Leadership. The role includes direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehab technicians and PT assistants, in compliance with State Practice Acts and Mercy Service Standards.

A Bachelor or higher in Physical Therapy (DPT preferred), MO licensure, and BLS certification are required; six

• Bachelor, MS in Physical Therapy or DPT accreditation.
• MO licensure or temporary licensure required.
• BLS certification must be current.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians, PT assistants per State Practice Acts.

Education

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy Hospital Southeast (Cape Girardeau, MO)

Shift: Part-Time, 24 hours a week

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
