Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist for PRN coverage in our Pediatrics Rehab team. The role requires at least 16 hours per month, including one weekend day, one holiday, and one support day. The PT will evaluate and treat pediatric patients across units, coordinate with care teams, and document treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required on start.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required on start.

Responsibilities

• Select evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for patient diagnosis, age, and status, and formulate treatment plans.
• Demonstrate competencies in treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols used.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Comply with department policies for evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and care teams; may perform additional duties.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Pediatrics Rehab team. This role will be PRN/as needed requiring at least 16 hrs/month (including 1 weekend day), 1 holiday and 1 support day.

Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children's hospital that offers the highest level of dedicated pediatric care in Northern Virginia. Our pediatric rehab team provides therapy services to the 226-bed pediatric hospital which includes a level IV NICU, PICU, Cardiac Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, and Hematology/Oncology/Orthopedic and Trauma Unit.

Physical Therapist PRN Job Responsibilities

• The Physical Therapist PRN selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Perform re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree
• 1 year of Physical Therapist (PT) pediatrics experience in the hospital setting
