Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Inpatient Rehab Therapy team. This PRN role requires five weekend shifts per quarter with at least one weekend shift per month and one Inova-recognized holiday per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• VA licensure or compact privileges required upon start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon start.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
• Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
• Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel consistent with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
