Job summary

NORTH TEXAS THERAPY & HOMECARE is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide skilled therapy in the homes and daytime facilities of pediatric patients (ages 0–21). Responsibilities include evaluating impairments, interpreting diagnostic data, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to set goals and refine care plans.

New grads with pediatric OT exposure (6 weeks) may qualify; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree and TX PT license required.
• Pediatrics experience required; new grads may have 6 weeks pediatric OT experience (internship ok).
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Must have valid auto insurance and drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy in patients' homes or daytime facilities for ages 0–21, 2+ visits per week.
• Determine degree and type of impairment using appropriate testing tools.
• Interpret data and prepare diagnostic reports.

Job description

Requirements

• Graduate degree from an accredited academic program in physical therapy
• License to practice physical therapy in the state of Texas
• Experience in pediatrics required (New grads must have a minimum of 6 weeks of pediatric OT experience - can include internship)
• Home health experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Must carry valid auto insurance and drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy services in the home or daytime facility of patients 0-21 years of age, 2 or more times per week, in accordance with physician orders
• Define the patients degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific physical therapy modalities and interventions
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with the total physical therapy program
• May provide supervision to Certified Physical Therapy Assistants
