Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Plano, TX seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver pediatric services in patients' homes or daytime facilities, 2+ times per week, per physician orders. Responsibilities include assessing motor impairment, selecting tests, interpreting data, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, educating staff and families, and possibly supervising assistants.

Requires TX PT license and pediatric experience; new grads with 6 weeks pediatric OT experience

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed to practice physical therapy in Texas.
• Experience in pediatrics required; new grads must have a minimum of 6 weeks of pediatric OT experience (internship allowed).
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Must carry valid auto insurance and driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PT services in the home or daytime facility for patients aged 0–21, 2+ times per week, per physician orders.
• Define the patients degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment(s) by selecting and administering appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports.
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient and advise, consult, and instruct the team in physical therapy modalities and interventions.
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with the total physical therapy program.
• May provide supervision to Certified Physical Therapy Assistants.
