Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in San Jose, CA. The PTA administers treatments, conducts strength and mobility assessments, and follows a care plan under supervision while upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications include an associate degree in PTA, CA license, and preferred one year of clinical experience. A sign-on bonus is available, and we offer PTO and referral bonuses as part of our benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment according to an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments or related activities to ensure discharge.
• Completes required forms and documents per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
