Job summary
Kane Glen Hazel – Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant to join AdvantageCare Rehabilitation. This role offers industry-leading PRN hourly rates with consistent weekday and weekend coverage and flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
As part of our rehabilitation team, you’ll support residents’ mobility and independence under a licensed PT, with opportunities for meaningful patient care in a skilled nursing setting.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Pennsylvania PTA license or eligibility to practice in PA, including PT Compact privilege.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and patient care skills.
- Ability to work with a supervising Physical Therapist and rehab team.
- Availability for weekday and/or weekend PRN coverage.
- Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute rehab preferred but not required.
- Experienced PTAs and new graduates welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Implement PT plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities and mobility interventions.
- Assist residents to improve strength, endurance and independence with daily activities.
- Monitor progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
- Educate patients and families within PTA scope of practice.
- Collaborate with therapists, nursing and rehab team members.
- Maintain timely clinical documentation per requirements.
- Assist with safe transfers and use of assistive devices.
- Follow facility safety protocols and PA practice requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered rehab environment.

As a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide individualized rehabilitation services that help residents improve functional mobility, strength, balance, and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions.
- Assist residents in improving strength, endurance, coordination, and independence with daily activities.
- Monitor patient progress, treatment tolerance, and changes in condition, communicating findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate and encourage patients and families within the PTA scope of practice.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, nursing staff, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility training, and appropriate use of assistive devices.
- Follow facility safety protocols, established treatment procedures, and applicable Pennsylvania practice requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, patient‑centered rehabilitation environment.
We're seeking Physical Therapist Assistants who are dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a CAPTE‑accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania prior to employment, including an applicable PT Compact privilege.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
