Job summary

AdvantageCare Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant to join Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg, PA. Work under a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve mobility, regain strength, and achieve rehab goals.

This flexible, as-needed opportunity suits experienced PTAs and new graduates. You'll participate in interdisciplinary care, provide therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to practice in Pennsylvania prior to employment, including an applicable PT Compact privilege.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering individualized, high-quality rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions.
• Help residents improve strength, endurance, coordination, and independence with daily mobility.
• Monitor residents' responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide encouragement and education to residents and families within the PTA scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nursing staff, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility training, and appropriate use of assistive devices.
• Follow established safety protocols, facility policies, and applicable Pennsylvania practice requirements.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive, patient-centered rehabilitation environment.

What You'll Do

Who We're Looking For
