Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve well-being, following a defined plan of care. This position offers the chance to work within Elite Home Health, part of a national post-acute care network.

Primary responsibilities include following state PT laws, aiding in exercise and gait training, and coordinating with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and follow the plan of care set by the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional tasks, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment and changes to the supervising PT; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and others in therapy within the PT assistant scope.
• Provide care in home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
