Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients as part of a home health care plan. The PTA will work under a supervising Physical Therapist to implement the established plan of care.

Primary responsibilities include instructing patients on active and passive exercises, gait, ADLs, and transfers; documenting patient responses; and coordinating care with the health team. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified PTA to practice in the state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable vehicle or public transport.
• Availability to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and work under the supervising PT.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADLs, and transfers.
• Observe and report patient responses and coordinate with the health care team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy activities within the PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of client demographics.
