Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under a supervising Physical Therapist in a home care setting.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through active and passive exercises, recording responses, and coordinating care with the healthcare team while ensuring safety and adherence to the plan of care. Strong communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home PT; follow plan of care set by supervising PT
• Instruct and assist patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility
• Observe and report patient responses; coordinate care with the health team
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within PTA scope
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and with all patients
