The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will provide direct Physical Therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Caswell Developmental Center under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). This candidate assists the PT with evaluations, treatment planning, scheduling, documentation, and daily therapy sessions. Also conducts standardized PT tests, gathers health data, monitors adaptive devices, and participates in meetings and chart reviews. The PTA trains and consults with facility staff on safe practices, positioning, transfers, and PT-related care and delivers and supports a variety of specialized PT services as part of individual treatment plans or standalone programs.
Caswell Developmental Center, serving as North Carolina's Eastern Region resource center, provides specialized residential, programmatic, and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
